Logging in to the service using strong authentication

The login to the OP Light Entrepreneur (With Business ID) service is being renewed on November 1, 2024 - from now on, login will only be done using strong authentication.

You can log in to the OP Light Entrepreneur service with your own email and password or using your bank ID until October 31, 2024. From November 1, 2024, logging in will only be possible using strong authentication, for example with your bank ID.

Strong authentication options available in the service from the beginning of October

  • Bank ID
    Available for all Finnish banks
  • Mobile certificate (Mobiilivarmenne)
    You can access Mobile certificate via your operator
  • User ID
    Logging in with your email and password will not be possible starting on November 1, 2024

How does logging in work in the future?

You will continue to log in to the service how you used to: Select “OP Light Entrepreneur” under the Login button. On the login page, you proceed by clicking the “Authenticate with bank ID” button to select your own bank or Mobile certificate.

During authentication, only your personal identity code and name are transmitted to our service. During authentication, your financial matters, such as account information, are not transmitted and OP Light Entrepreneur will never ask you for your bank ID or card information by message or phone.

I have a bank ID, do I need Mobile certificate?

You can use your bank ID to log in. The use of Mobile certificate is not mandatory, but you can use either of these.

What happens to my user ID after the change?

We will remove the possibility to log in with email and password on November 1, 2024. You can still use the service by logging in with strong authentication, as long as you have an active account with us.

What is Mobile certificate and how do I use it?

Mobile certificate is a secure and reliable identification and login method maintained by Finnish operators (DNA, Elisa, and Telia). The use of the service is based on your own phone number, and you can get Mobile certificate from your own phone operator. The use of OP Light Entrepreneur service does not require Mobile certificate, as logging in is also possible with your bank ID.

What happens to my account if I do not have a bank ID or Mobile certificate?

Our service is completely digital and all functions, such as invoicing, adding expenses, and reviewing accounting, occur in the service when logged in. Unfortunately, the service cannot be used if you cannot log in to the service. We recommend obtaining or renewing your bank ID from your own bank well in advance so that you can continue to log in to our service in the future.

Why is the login being updated?

We are improving the security and accessibility of the service by abandoning the combination of email and password and fully transitioning to strong authentication. With this update, we are aligning the customer experience with other OP services, such as the OP Light Entrepreneur Without Business ID service.
