What is YEL income and how is it determined?
YEL income
- is a monetary estimate of your contribution as an entrepreneur
- is determined as at least the wage that would be paid to a person with comparable skills if they were hired for your work.
YEL income is based on the value of your work contribution. However, it has a lower and an upper limit. Both change every year.
When your income is at least the YEL lower limit, you have the right and the obligation to take out YEL insurance. In 2024, the lower limit is €9 010,28 and the upper limit 204 625 €.
