Yes. Certain lines of business are exempt from VAT or the VAT has been passed on to the contractor. So you do not need to add VAT to your invoice, we will add 0% VAT as an option for you. These lines of business are:

  • Health and medical services, as well as social services
  • Educational services separately defined in the Value Added Tax Act
  • Remuneration for performances and copyright of texts and musical works separately defined in the Value Added Tax Act

The provision of health, medical and social services is an activity subject to authorization. All license applications must be in order before you can add 0% VAT to your invoice.

In the line of construction, where reverse charge VAT applies, the vendor also pays no VAT. So in the case of certain construction services, the tax is paid by the buyer and not the vendor.

Sales without VAT due to small-scale business

Regardless of your line of business, you can also invoice with 0% VAT on the basis of small-scale business if your turnover stays below €20,000 per calendar year. In this case, you are removed from the VAT register and invoice without VAT up to the threshold. Read more in our guide should you invoice with or without VAT (in Finnish).

You can request a 0% VAT and a reverse 0% VAT rate via the customer service chat.

Make changes to your VAT registration after logging in to the service.
